532 Foundations of Education in Nursing

The principles of how learning occurs are introduced and explored. Learning theories are compared, contrasted, and critically analyzed, leading to application within the classroom and clinical setting. Strategies to develop critical thinking in students are examined. Aspects of curriculum development and instructional design are discussed. May be used as an elective for students in the clinician option. Prerequisites: 500, 504, 508, 512, and 516 or consent of instructor. 3 S.H.
