566 Family Mental Health Psychopharmacology

This course builds on content from 529-Advanced Pharmacology across the Lifespan. The course will provide the graduate with advanced knowledge regarding the pharmacotherapeutics of psychotropic medications and the clinical management of target psychiatric symptoms in order to assess, diagnose, and create/manage a medication plan for this population. Single and multiple drug regimens, cost effectiveness, and client medication education/adherence with also be reviewed. Case studies will provided will provide opportunities for the students to apply prescribing and monitoring appropriate psychopharmacologic agents for patients across the lifespan. Prerequisites: 517, 519, 529 or consent of the instructor. 3 S.H.
